Einer der berühmtesten Legenden in unserer Region ist die Legende von den Bokkenrijders (goatriders) oder wie es im 18. Jahrhundert geschrieben wird: Bockeryeders.
Es war ein furchterregender Bande, die in der Grenzregion auf beiden Seiten der Maas (Meuse), sowohl in den Niederlanden (Kerkrade), Deutschland (Aachen)
und in Belgien (Wellen).
Man glaubte, sie ritten auf Ziegen durch den Himmel .....

It was a fearsome gang that operated in the border region on both sides of the river Maas (Meuse), both in the Netherlands (Kerkrade), Germany (Aachen)
and Belgium (Wellen).
It was believed they rode on goats through the sky.....
