Importing through live api on android

Hello,

Just today I started exploring CacheBox on my tablet (I do cache with a tablet sometimes ;-)
I was able to copy a db3 database on the sdcard and a OSM bin map.

I have some questions:

1. I couldn't set the map type (offline/online). Does this mean it is done automatically. If the tiles are within the offline map, it will use those, otherwise it will get them online?

2. Is it possible to import geocaches using the live API on the device?
Most of the time, the use is ad-hoc. On the location I would like to import the geocaches within a certain radius. Is this possible?
If yes, How?
If no, is it planned?

- Robert

PS: Sorry for my (bad) English.
I hope to translate CacheBox into Dutch within a few days or weeks.

Hallo Robert,

Kai

The easiest way is if you move the map to the search area, and then open the search dialog of the map!

With the button at the top right you can now switch to Online!
The button at the bottom left is now changing its icon on target!
A click on this now opens a dialog, which loads the Caches via the API!

I am running it on the tablet. I see that the display setup for the tablet is a bit different from the phone. (Great by the way, that you can have different views next to eachother, perfect).

But I tried long pressing all buttons, but I don't see the options you mention. I feel like an idiot now ;-)
Can you show the image of the button I need to (long) press for import geocache and offline maps?
Sorry about that.

first try the short klick again on the same button. In nearly most cases you don't need a long klick. (Exception is contextmenu of Cache in Cachelist).

About the translations:

The translations are included in the APK and be replaced only with an update!
But if you want to test your translations in Cachebox, then you can load the last translations from crowdin.

The files you copy then to Cachebox / data / lang.....

So you can use the translations without waiting for an update!

Wow, Great! Thanks for the extensive explanation.
I am a happy camper now.

When the weather is getting better, I will try this application on the road with a tablet and on a phone to see how it works,
