RangerFox hat im englischen Forum einen Link auf seine neue Wherigo Webseite veröffentlicht. Wen es interessiert, der kann sich ja selbst ein Bild machen und eventuell Verbesserungsvorschläge einreichen.

Hab versucht mich anzumelden (allow access), da gabs eine Fehlermeldung, nehme an, das ist noch nicht vorgesehen oder mach ich was falsch?

Was kommt denn für eine Fehlermeldung?

Ich habe einen anderen Typ von Zugang. Deshalb kann ich es nicht nachprüfen. Eventuell können sich normale User noch nicht anmelden.

nach "anmelden" kommt das fenster von geocaching.com mit "allow access" dann klick ich drauf und es kommt rangers seite mit folgender fehlermeldung (ganz oben über dem content):

"Cannot insert the value NULL into column 'completeCount', table 'WherigoDev.dbo.Users'; column does not allow nulls. INSERT fails. The statement has been terminated.

at Wherigo.Data.User.API_GetGCUser() at Wherigo.Data.User.GCLogin(Boolean forceRelogin) at Wherigo.UI.SiteMaster.ProcessLogin() "

Unten auf der Seite steht aber auch "You are viewing a preview site. " Also wärs nicht verwunderlich, wenn das einfach noch nicht funzt...

Ich konnte mich gestern auch nicht anmelden, denke ist nur eine Testseite ohne Anmeldemöglichkeit. Sind ja auch noch keine WiGs drin.

So, habe Kontakt mit RangerFox aufgenommen. Der Fehler sollte behoben sein. War ein Problem, dass beim Umzug der Webseite entstanden ist.

Ach, wieso sind keine WIGs drin? Eigentlich sollten 20-30 . Die sehe wenigstens ich. Eventuell sind sie auch erst nach der Anmeldung zu sehen.

Wigs hat man vorher auch schon gesehen, allerdings nicht übers dropdownmenü, nur über den link "search for cartridges".

Das macht gleich viel mehr Spaß, wenn man merkt, dass da Engagement und kompetente Leute dahinter sind, nicht wie bei... Weiter so

Wenn Ihr noch etwas seht, was Ihr für unverzichtbar haltet, einfach melden, dann kann ich es weiterleiten oder einfach direkt auf der englischen Seite eintragen.

Anmelden klappt auf dem iPad nicht: "Safari kann die Seite nicht öffnen, da zu viele Umleitungen auftraten".

Die WGs sind jetzt zu sehen.

Eine Anregung habe ich noch. Ich poste die mal hier, da ich die in Englisch wohl nicht soo gut rüberbringen kann:

Schaut man sich WG38 an so liegt er angeblich in Brandenburg. Schaut man dann auf die Karte ist's doch ein wenig weiter weg. Es wäre also schön, wenn Land und ggf. Bundesland beim Upload aus den Koords ermittelt und nicht dem Wohlwollen des Owners überlassen werden.

Ich konnte mich erfolgreich mit meinem G$-Account anmelden.
Jetzt wollte ich eine Cartridge hochladen. Allerdings kam bald folgende Fehlermeldung:

Could not find the cartridge's StartingLocation variable.

Das Problem hatte ich bisher bei der G$-Wherigo-Seite nicht. Da funzt die Cartridge einwandfrei.

- must everyone upload their cartridges again or is it planed to migrate all of them from wherigo.com ?
- or is the whole site a "demo" so far until groundspeak agrees to the "new wherigo world" ?

Problem ist gefunden und reproduzierbar.

Ich hatte bei der Anmeldung bei GC angehakt, dass ich angemeldet bleiben will. Klickt man auf der neuen Wherigo-Seite erst auf "sign up", dann in Safari auf "zurück" und erst dann auf "sign in" so kommt man zur Abfrage von GC ob man den Zugriff erlauben will. Erlaubt man den Zugriff funktioniert das erneute anmelden auf der neuen Wherigo-Seite dann problemlos.

Es wäre nett, wenn jemand das für Ranger Fox übersetzen könnte.

When logging in to GC I have checked that I want to remain logged in. If I click at "sign up" on the new Wherigo page, and then in Safari on "Back" and then on "sign in" so I am asked by GC if I want to allow access. If I allow that, a further login at the new Wherigo page then works easily.

The site will always use the StartingLocation of the first version of the cartridge. I could retrieve the StartingLocation of subsequent versions. What about I give you the ability to adjust the posted coordinates in the Edit Listing page, either by entering the coordinates or choosing them from a map? (And I really do need to redesign that page; it was the first one I created, so it's a little messier than the rest of the site. But, for now, I'll focus on making things work and giving everyone the tools they need; making things prettier can come later.)

Groundspeak, with regard to Wherigo, is good at talking and promising, but never delivering. I cannot wait forever, though, because the new Wherigo Player app is close to launching and it needs the site's Wherigo API to feed it cartridges.
