Der Bereich in dem der Server bei diesem Layer antwortet ist nicht sehr groß. Der Recommendes Scale von 4 schien mir noch die beste Darstellungsqualität. Infos gibt es bei Wiki, wobei ich die Abkürzung entsprechend der italienischen Wiki (relativ weit unten) verwenden würde.Wegen der Dateibenennung:
Gibt es in Italien sowas wie Bundesländer? Ist Toskana eines davon? Oder "erfinden" wir selbst Namen für die Regionen?
Theoretisch ja: IGM 25.000 (sowas wie die Karten unserer Landesvermessungsämter). Allerdings sind die auf Papier deutlich besser als auf dem WMS, auch wenn in der Tat z.T. nur sehr alte Karten zu Verfügung stehen. Es gibt noch einen besseren Layer, allerdings muss man dann auch eine größere Skalierung verwenden.Welches Kartenmaterieal liegt zugrude? 1:25.000?

Mit dem scale musst Du noch was machen:
als recommended und als MinScale oder MaxScale den gleichen Wert zu haben ist nicht gut, weil kleine Fehler in der Rechengenauigkeit (was gerade bei Wurzel 2 ein Problem ist: Float oder Double, und minimale Abweichungen in der Definition oder bei der Distanzberechnung) zur Ablehnung des Downloads führen.
Also in diesem Fall RecommendedScale vielleicht auf 4.1 setzen.
